Hello, I’m Dr. Brett Stone, Psychology Resident at Pinellas Psychology Associates. I am most passionate about having others find the internal resources within themselves to lead a life that they identify as fulfilling, as well helping to see what purpose their struggles serve for their growth. I’m a strong believer in using a problem solving and a cognitive behavioral therapy approach.
I have had 10 years of experience providing academic coaching services to youth in middle school through adults in graduate school with various learning profiles. I specialized my psychology doctorate studies in working with families raising children with special needs. In addition, I have spent my clinical hours providing parent and family consultation as well as cognitive behavior therapy for youth with anxiety and depression as well as for adults.
I enjoy providing consultation to parents raising youth with developmental disabilities in terms of how to emotionally handle the added parental stressors, as well as the practicalities of how to navigate the endless therapy appointments and multitude of goals set by various pediatric providers.
In my spare time, I enjoy my family and dog, gardening, playing tennis, basketball and practicing yoga. I love to read, listen to audiobooks and podcasts, and journal. I try my best to put down all electronics at night and attempt to learn the guitar!
If I sound like a good match for you or your child, please call me at 727-203-4039.
